Andreas Kontellis’s solo painting exhibition titled ‘Physis’ opens on Thursday 12th of May 2016 at 8.00 pm at Skoufa Gallery. The exhibition will run until Saturday the 4th of June.
An idealized version of nature is presented by Andreas Kontellis at the artworks of this exhibition. The faces of his portraits inhabit a virgin and unmodulated world, where they are absorbed by their inherent innocence and are harmonized.
Kontellis’s painting proposes a tuneful participation by the spectator into the beauty and unity of the world. Furthermore, the natural landscape of Lemnos island is the context within which the painter projects his painterly narrations.
Andreas Kontellis studied at the Athens School of Fine Art under P. Tetsis. He went on to complete a MFA at London’s Middlesex University. Kontellis applies power and sensitivity in painterly mediums while composing his works.
