Electra Art Space and Skoufa Gallery proudly present a solo show by sculptor Stathis Alexopoulos, entitled “KIDSROOM” opening on Thursday December 5th at 7:30 pm. The exhibition will run until January the 5th, 2020, and is the initial exhibition of Skoufa Gallery’s new art space, located in the city center of Athens, at Electra Metropolis Hotel.
In his recent work, the artist is inspired by his personal experiences, the relationship that flourishes between father and child, and the intense emotions that seal this relationship. The gallery space is transformed into a “kid’s room”, while the concept of play assists the broader artistic narrative. The visitor enters a fantasy setting, where the main protagonists are recognizable heroes, and familiar objects of childhood. He finds himself surrounded by colorful, flashy images, that trigger the memory as much as the imagination.
Alexopoulos creates a small, sculptural universe that appeals to audiences of all ages, inviting them to reach out to their inner child and revisit their childhood memories.
