Tumbled Together

20.01 – 12.02/2015

On Tuesday 20th January 2015, at 7.30pm, Skoufa Gallery opens Takis Kavallieratos’s first solo exhibition with the title ‘Tumbled Together”. The exhibition will run until the 11th February 2015.
Takis Kavallieratos focuses on his painting identity which has marked the style of all the objects and jewelry he made in the past and for which he is famous.
Overall, his paintings are surrealistic and each of his compositions aims to unlock unconscious sensations that both the artist and the viewer may have.
Kavallieratos’s sculptural compositions made of worn everyday materials create new haphazard forms which refer to the human figure. Realistically rendered objects are structured in a way that transforms them to human figures, Kavallieratos’s work is based on the paradox of the human existence. He combines the elements of a realistic landscape , the composition of a still life and the sensitivity of a portrait to show the nature of these materials, their use in time and their relationship with man himself.
