‘Art on Paper/ Painting on Paper’
Group Exhibition at Electra Art Space

Electra Art Space by Skoufa Gallery in Syntagma is hosting a group exhibition of paintings on paper, from the 26th June until the 19th July 2025,
The exhibition includes work by artists who collaborate with Skoufa Gallery and it aims to focus on small and large drawings or paintings on paper that are often regarded as less important than paintings on canvas, even though in most cases they are the result of an effortless and spontaneous creative moment of a painter.
A painting or a drawing on paper, can sometimes be a sketch, a quick written account of images and compositions, and at other times an independent piece of art. Despite its light weight and fragility, paper is a significant medium, as it has the ability to be used in many ways and support a plethora of materials such as pencil, charcoal, ink and pastels, watercolors, acrylics or even oil paints. Paper itself is often used as the creative ‘writing’ material: it is folded, creased, torn into pieces and glued on another surface in order to render a composition, a construction or a collage.
The intimacy, the fragility and the directness of the drawings and paintings on paper deserve an attentive approach and appreciation because with their distinctive character they become widely accessible and bring viewers and artists much closer.
The participant painters in this exhibition are: Nikos Angelidis, Kalliopi Asargiotaki. Maria Giannakaki, Irini Iliopoulou, Irini Kana, Achilleas Razis, Margarita Skokou, Antonis Staveris and George Hadoulis.
