Skoufa Gallery Mykonos is happy to announce the Opening of the Group Exhibition entitled “Colour Fields”, on Saturday, 24 June 2017, at 20.00. The exhibition will last until the 15th of July 2017.
Artworks inspired by the elements of nature focusing mainly on the use of color, light, and shape are presented in this rich and colorful exhibition. Eight artists, using mixed media techniques and abstract visual language, allow us to explore the various trends in the field of contemporary abstract painting through landscapes of colour, texture and matter. Qualities like erosion, wind, sunlight, water, associated with nature are incorporated into the artworks, brought into the realm of painting.
The act of painting becomes a gesture, a moment of freedom applied to the surface of the canvas. Νon-representational compositions, others rich in texture, others monochromatic, almost insubstantial, mysterious and emotive, all attempt to communicate directly to the spectators’ senses evoking strong emotions.
