Beyond Landscape

Dimitri Sarasiti’s latest paintings that are shown at the current exhibition are esoteric landscapes and not mere representations of nature.
These landscapes are erased and re-painted on the canvas. They are re-discovered and re-defined through an instinctive painting process, which wanders from an urban core to its industrial limits, at times being a tiny optical stimulus and at other times a visual memory which converse and activate the artist’s intention.
Sarasiti’s paintings do not belong to a clear geographical entity. They represent a new geography of a definite space.
His landscapes are calendrical narratives with a somewhat confessional approach which expresses the artist’s acts and experiences.
