Skoufa Gallery is happy to announce the solo painting exhibition by Irene Kana, entitled Women and other Constellations. The exhibition will be opening on Thursday 12 October 2017, at 20:00 and last until Saturday, 4 November 2017.
The exhibition includes paintings from her most recent work, created over the past 2 years, with the female figure as their main subject.
Kana’s women are familiar and mysterious at the same time, they move through the space-time as if in a dream. They live in a place somewhere between the real and the transcendent.
Maintaining her familiar painterly style, Kana is generously offering us, an honest and incompatible painting. With color as her main expressing mean, a concentrated and blazing color and through her expressive brushing succeeds to fascinate her audience.
Do dreams have colors? One can’t help but wonder when confronts Kana’s painting. There, matter and color mix gently and coexist peacefully, introducing to the audience an original unbinding emotion.
