The Solo exhibition of Fragkiskos Doukakis entitled Nightscapes will be inaugurated on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at 20:00.
The exhibition will last until Saturday, May 8, 2018.
The Artist presents his recent series of paintings of the urban landscape, including 21 large-scale works where matter, light and color manage to bring the viewer to the mysterious atmosphere and charm of night. The exhibition is a route that follows the wanderings of the painter through pictures – landscapes of memory. Deserted parking lots, overnight gas stations, lonely streets, and underground routes all stand overwhelmingly and openly under the night sky.
As the curator of the exhibition, Iris Kritikou notes: “Following the outstanding nighttime volumes of the near or distant planes of his paths, capturing a warm intimacy of time, enjoying the influx of color paste and its infiltration form, Doukakis conquers a rare painting atmosphere in which choreography of the paint is a decision of the moment, defining an undefined condition that is not based on the exact Urban description but mainly in retractable by painting rare primary emotion … “.
