Skoufa gallery happily presents Nikos Lagos’ solo exhibition, titled ‘Raw’. The exhibition opens on Tuesday 10th February 2026 at 19:30 and it will run until 7th March 2026.
At his new solo exhibition, Nikos Lagos displays work produced during the last couple of years. With words-symbols, shapes and narratives, Lagos creates an artistic multifaceted vocabulary and transforms his compositions into fields for open study. The language of his artworks offers no easy answers; on the contrary, it activates the viewer to embark on a decoding process, where interpretations remain open.
Christoforos Marinos mentions in the catalogue that accompanies the exhibition: “Lagos paints (his) thoughts, whether they are negative or positive, dark or happy – and this explosive juxtaposition adds power and unique qualities to his canvasses… The space in Lagos’s painting seems like a riddle as it is formed like an amusing game for children: such as the ‘noughts and crosses’ that often appear in his paintings, or the ‘hangman’ where the viewers-players try to guess the hidden words. It is an ambiguous game that is constructed and deconstructed simultaneously and perpetually”.
