Our inner child

01 May 2019 - 31 May 2019

“The creation of something new is not accomplished by the intellect but by the play instinct.” Carl Jung (1921)

From superhero action figures to child-like drawing and playful sculptures, this exhibition explores the importance of play. This idea is as important as the notion of playfulness. Play is something that everyone can relate to; artists use this universal experience to convey ideas through the simplest of means.

Embrace playing as a way of creating, understanding and feeling art, effectively blurring the boundaries between artwork and whimsy. What unites the diverse selection of works is the presence of figures or other recognizable forms of our childhood. The works were selected for how they “trigger reflection on time”.

After all it is summer and you are in Mykonos. Embrace your inner child, life doesn’t always have to be that serious!
