Skoufa Gallery Mykonos is proud to be hosting PATRICK RUBINSTEIN and his KINETIC ART in a special event, on TUESDAY, 08 AUGUST, at 21.00.
The Artist will be present.
Jean-Michel Basquiat, Warhol, Rosenquist, Roy Lichtenstein, Murakami, Léonard de Vinci, Jeff Koons, Fautrier, Tamara de Lempicka, Helmut Newton, Francis Bacon, Tom Wesselmann, Niki de Saint Phalle, Robert Indiana, Pierre Soulages, Combas, Pasqua, Fernand Léger, Keith Haring, Villeglé, Picasso, Miro, Peter Klasen, Arman…
These are just some of the many artists whose work has influenced Patrick Rubinstein’s practice.
His works create an illusionistic result in their effort to represent motion on a flat surface and like his “kinetic art” precursors, he creates his works in such a way that they are fully perceived only by the viewer’s movement.
Born in Paris in 1960, when the world’s focus was set on Bardot, the Beatles, Jackie, he transforms pop culture into an iconic reflection of everyday life. He grew up in an artistic environment – with his mother, a film fan, and his father, an all-around avant-gardist. The optical illusion has always been present in his family’s creations.
He has worked closely with the famous designer Philippe Stark and today Patrick Rubinstein is one of the most popular French contemporary artists – he is listed in the top 100 of living artist in Drouot-.
