Skoufa Gallery participates at Tinos Festival with Tassos Mantzavinos’ new solo exhibition, titled ‘Icarus, the Adolescent Angel’ at the ‘A Touch of New/Vacation House ASPALATHOS’ in Triantaros, Tinos. The opening evening is on Saturday 22nd July 2023, from 19:00 to 22:30 and the exhibition will be on view until the 13th August 2023. George Mylonas, the Art Historian curates the show.
For this series of paintings, Tassos Mantzavinos draws his inspiration from the Greek Mythology and the story of Icarus in particular. His pictures are identified by the richness of their colors, the narrative depth of their images, their strong ties with the byzantine civilization and the folk tradition, as well as by the artist’s robust depiction of his own experiences.
The exhibition is on view at the settlement of Triantaros, in Tinos, at the outstanding private residence ASPALATHOS, ‘A Touch of New/ Vacation House’, which was designed by the distinguished architect Aristides Dallas. The opening of the show will be followed by a reception with wine and products from Tinos.
