Future Perfect

Opening Day: Thursday 14th March 2024, 19:30-21:30
Duration: 14th March – 6th April 2024

Skoufa Gallery presents Tina Karageorgi’s new solo exhibition titled ‘Future Perfect’. The exhibition opens on Thursday 14th March 2024, at 19:30 and it will run until the 6th April 2024. In this display, the artist presents a group of artworks made of handmade paper and a series of sculptures executed during the last couple of years.

‘Future Perfect’ is an English title, chosen for its dual interpretation: in English, it is a tense that suggests a completed action in the future, but literally speaking, it may also be defined as ‘the Perfect Future’. In Greek terms, the title refers only to an action completed in the future.

Tina Karageorgi explains that her subject matter is the element of time which results to nature’s endangered state in the future. To the undisputed fact that nature ‘will be extinguished’, she objects in Future Continuous: ‘it will continue existing’, ‘it will continue to survive’.

The flowers, the leaves, the nature that surrounds us, become internal situations. They all exist in timeless circumstances and they could all represent memories from the past
