In this exhibition, works that combine pictorial and sculptural elements are presented. Their underlying inspiration has been the forms, shapes and colours of Greek nature.
Ordinary, every-day found objects are selected and reused by Kalafatis in an unexpected and surprising manner. By combining their features and forms, as well as their inherent movement, rhythm and functional use, they are transformed into unique beings which are self-powered and meaningfully autonomous.
All the works are presented as a naturesque artistic installation, which does not aim at imitating the physical world, but at reinterpreting its form, its aesthetics and its meaning.
